EVOLUTION MINING AMATEUR AMBROSE EVENT

Evolution Mining Amateur Ambrose Event

The Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event will maintain the highest level of integrity by strict adherence to the rules of golf and the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event rules and conditions set in place by the PGA and Theodore Golf Club. These measures are taken to ensure the fairness of play while making sure that the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event is an enjoyable day for everyone. This is strictly an AMATEUR event.

Evolution Mining Amateur Ambrose Event conditions of competition

The PGA all rules and regulations in conjunction with the Theodore Golf Club rules. Local rules will be in play on the day. For example, hand span or card length through to the green. It is the responsibility of each amateur golfer to make certain that they are aware of the eligibility criteria for the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event. The submission of a team’s entry to the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event will only be accepted once all team fees are paid. There will be NO REFUNDS.

1. On the day the head Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event co-ordinator will certify each entrants official Golf Australia handicap. Photo ID will be required.

2. All teams and individual participants must conform to the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event requirements. It is the players responsibility to ensure that they are playing off the correct handicap on the day. If a player is found to be playing off an incorrect handicap, deliberately or otherwise the team may be subject to a score adjustment or disqualification as determined by the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event co-ordinator.

3. All players must have completed a minimum of 5 legitimate, eligible single handicap competition rounds by the 20th September 2019 prior to the event on the 6th of October. Handicap checks will be carried out. Failure to meet any of these eligibility requirements will result in team disqualification.

4. This is strictly an amateur event. The following people are not eligible: Head professionals, Assistant professionals, Teaching professionals, Semi active professionals, Trainee professionals and Tournament professionals.

5. Failure to provide photo ID will result in disqualification.

6. A team must consist of 4 players to compete.

Handicap Requirements

In order to be eligible to compete in the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event all amateur players must hold an official Golf Australia handicap. Players with a Golf Australia handicap that has been set to provisional are not eligible to participate in the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event. An amateurs players approved handicap must reflect his/her potential playing ability. All players must use their official GA Handicap on the day of the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event.

The maximum GA Handicap is 36.4 for males and 45.4 for females. The maximum daily handicap is 36 for males and 45 for females. The 4 team members aggregate GA Handicap must total at least 36.

The maximum aggregate GA Handicap is 112.0.

A maximum of two single figure handicaps (9.9 or less) players based on individuals GA Handicap are allowed in each team on the day of the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event.

EG: 8.7 + 11.1 + 1.4 + 10.2 = 31.4 (ineligible)

15.5 + 11.7 + 8.3 + 2.4 = 40.9 (eligible)

2.3 + 11.7 + 25.3 + 27.2 =66.5 (eligible)

1.3 + 5.7 + 9.9 + 28.7 =45.6 ( ineligible, more than 2 single figure handicaps)

5.6 + 28.3 + 34.8 + 43.5 female = 112.2 ( ineligible as mixed event team aggregate GA Handicap must not exceed 112.0 )

To determine the net score on the day of the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event, team members GA Handicaps are adjusted as per the slope rating of the tees being played from to determine their daily handicaps.

The aggregate Daily handicap is divided by 8 to determine the team Daily handicap. The resulting figure is than subtracted from the teams score for the ambrose 18-hole event. For example,

Team aggregate Daily handicap of 54 divided by 8 = 6.75

Team scratch score. = 70

Net score. = 63.25(70-6.75)

Each team members scorecard must show each team members GA Handicap and Daily handicap. The scorecard is to be signed by at least 2 members of the group. Signing an incorrect scorecard or handicap will be subject to penalties as determined by the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event co-ordinator.

Tie Breakers

The method for determining tie-breakers at both local and Regional events is as follows.

Count back – The winner is determined by count back taking the lowest net score for the last 9 holes (10-18). If tied teams have the same score for the last 9 holes, than the winner will be determined on the basis of the lowest net score for the last 6 holes, than 3 holes than hole by hole if necessary all the while adjusting the team handicap to determine the net results.

Sudden Death – In the case of a tie at the Evolution Amateur Ambrose Event a ( gross) sudden death playoff would be used to determine the winner whilst time permits. The time allowed for a result and the sequence of holes to be played will be announced by the match committee at the time of commencement of the playoff.

Special Rules

If a team is disqualified for a rules violation, no entry fees will be refunded.
